March 25, 2026: Air quality near South Delhi educational hub approaches ‘poor’

For today’s Aaj Ka AQI, Newslaundry visited Katwaria Sarai – a bustling hub for South Delhi’s student community. Located near the Indian Statistical Institute, JNU, and NCERT, the area’s air quality is a vital health concern for the thousands of students and workers who commute here every day.

According to the nearest monitoring station at Aurobindo Marg operated by the DPCC, the AQI stood at 153, placing it in the ‘moderate’ category. PM2.5 levels were also recorded at 153, while PM10 stood at approximately 186.

However, Newslaundry’s on-ground air quality monitor showed slightly higher readings. Our device recorded an AQI hovering around 180 – still within the ‘moderate’ range, but inching closer to the ‘poor’ threshold. PM2.5 levels were around 82, while PM10 stood close to 104.
