Former Leeds United man Jermaine Beckford has claimed that the Whites are in a better position under Jesse Marsch than they were with Marcelo Bielsa, but insisted that there is still "room for improvement".
Marcsh was appointed head coach of Leeds in February last year following the departure of Bielsa. The Argentine was - and still is - a well-loved figure at the club and the American knew he had work to do to try and emulate the 67-year-old at Elland Road.
Leeds find themselves just three points above 20th-placed Southampton in the Premier League and are without a win in the competition since November. Despite the club's recent poor form, Beckford is adamant that they are better off with Marsch at the helm.

"It's been a roller coaster, to say the least," Beckford told the BBC about Marsch's time at the club so far. "I think he's improved the team defensively. I think that was one of the most important elements of the team to sort out because obviously going forward under Marcelo Bielsa was really exciting.
"There were chances created nonstop. He [Marsch] has continued that with this current team, but defensively they look a little bit well, a lot more solid and in tune with what they're supposed to be doing.
When asked if Leeds are in a better position since Bielsa's departure, Beckford said that although there are still areas to improve upon, he believes Marsch has taken the club forward.
"I would say yes, only because of the organisation of the team at the back," he added. "And in midfield they are still creating chances, stopping opposition from creating a lot of chances against [them] and that was one of the major issues and the Marcelo Bielsa.
"So I would say yes, but there's still room for improvement. There's been a couple of really good signings as well [Rutter and Wober], which are cementing exactly how Jesse wants to play."
