Marcelo Bielsa submits new Leeds United injury list after Aston Villa draw

Leeds United face their second consecutive away game in four days this Saturday as the Whites visit Goodison Park.

Everton will play hosts to Marcelo Bielsa's men, as they trail Leeds in the Premier League table by four points.

Newly-installed manager Frank Lampard has well-documented history with Leeds and Bielsa, however there is a different prize at stake this time around: Premier League survival.

The former Derby County and Chelsea boss has been thrust into his maiden relegation battle following defeat to Newcastle United in midweek and is tasked with digging the Merseyside club out of uncharted territory with victories over the likes of Leeds.

United's midweek fixture saw six goals scored and the points shared at Villa Park, as Leeds fought back to salvage a point against Steven Gerrard's Aston Villa.

Mateusz Klich was among those substituted late on in that game with suspected cramp, but is not added to the injury list.

Marcelo Bielsa has provided a fresh injury update on his Leeds squad, which includes the progress of left-back Junior Firpo who was said to be in contention for this latest fixture earlier this week..

The Spanish full-back picked up an injury in the 3-2 win over West Ham United.

Argentine coach Bielsa offered the following words in his pre-Everton press conference.

"Phillips, Cooper, Firpo and Bamford like in the game against Aston Villa won't be considered for the game against Everton," Bielsa said.

"He's healthy but we're not going to anticipate his return [tomorrow]. He's going to return next week," the head coach added on Firpo.

Leeds' trip to Goodison Park could prove pivotal in the fight against the drop.

Currently, five teams occupy spaces below the Whites in the Premier League table, Everton included.

However, defeat to the Toffees and other results going against Leeds this weekend has the potential to drag Bielsa's still-depleted side back into the mix.

On the other hand, triumph versus Lampard's new group would separate Leeds from those attempting to claw themselves free from the threat of the second tier.

Leeds take on Everton at Goodison Park at 3pm on Saturday, February 12.
