The “mansion tax” could wipe £150,000 off the value of multi-million pound homes in London hit by the new levy announced by Rachel Reeves in the Budget.

The full cost of the new surcharge on properties worth more than £2 million, which will hit London hardest, is expected by the Office for Budget Responsibility to feed through into lower prices.
