AMRITSAR: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Delhi deputy CM Manish Sisodia on Friday campaigned for the party’s candidate from Amritsar East, Jeevan Jyot Kaur, who is locked in a tough contest against Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu and SAD senior leader Bikram Singh Majithia.
Sisodia said opposition parties had befooled the people of Punjab and come to power with mutual agreements. “Like a lways, this time too, Akalis and Congress are working together to defeat AAP. We have to understand their connivance and be careful. This time, their corrupt politics has to be wiped out by pressing the ‘jharoo’ (broom) button,” he said.
Stating that AAP’s candidates were from ordinary families, he said, “They understand the plight of the common people. Even after winning, they will remain among you and will support you in your happiness and sorrow. Our aim is to make the life of every common person of Punjab happy and prosperous. ”
