Thugs who left a young reveller with serious facial injuries are today being hunted by police.
Police say the 25-year-old was assaulted on Neville Street in Newcastle city centre during the early hours of Saturday morning.
The Chronicle understands the incident happened near the Centre for Life.

The victim was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary by ambulance and is now recovering at home.
Police are now appealing for witnesses.
A Northumbria Police spokeswoman said: “Shortly after 4.40am on Saturday we received a report of an assault on Neville Street.
“A 25-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries to his face.
“An investigation into the incident is on-going. Anyone with information is asked to contact us."
