MANGALURU: A six-year-old boy died after he was run over by a tipper truck in Bajal-Kattapuni, Mangaluru, on Wednesday.
The boy, Mohammed Jishan, was standing with his bicycle by the side of a narrow mud road adjoining a lake bund behind Kordabbu Daivasthana waiting for his relative.
Around 6 pm, the truck, carrying a load of mud for levelling the land nearby, passed the road. The rear wheels hit the boy and he came under the vehicle and died on the spot. The driver has escaped. The Mangaluru South Traffic police have registered a case against the driver.
