Mangaluru lad gets AIR 5 in Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana exam

MANGALURU: Muralidhar Rao of Mangaluru has secured the all-India fifth rank in the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) examination. The results were announced recently.

Muralidhar is a student at the Centre for Advanced Learning (CFAL) and ranked fifth in the SX category for class 12 students.

Samanth Martis has secured the all-India 584th rank. In the SA category (for class 11 students), CFAL student S Pranav has secured the 65th rank, followed by Sanjana D S (228), Radhika (1,088), Shreyas Adiga (1,627) and Aaryan Alit Dev (1,665).

Vijay Moras, the managing director of CFAL, said on Tuesday that the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, conducted the KVPY 2022 exam on May 22. The exam is held for the admissions to bachelor's, master's and integrated degree fellowship programmes in science.

Muralidhar said: “I had a dream of joining IISc when I was in Class 9. I will decide about the specialised subject area after completing my course.”

KVPY is a national exam for fellowship in basic sciences funded by the department of science and technology, Government of India, to attract motivated students wanting to study basic science courses and choose research careers. Besides scholarships as fellowships, the students are entitled to several other benefits.
