Manchester United XI vs Chelsea: Rashford dropped - Starting lineup, confirmed team news, injury latest today

Mason Mount is denied a reunion as Manchester United host Chelsea at Old Trafford tonight, while Marcus Rashford is dropped to the bench.

Mount, a former Blues academy star who was sold to the Red Devils in the summer, is back in training after suffering a calf injury just over a week ago.

Erik ten Hag admitted he was unsure when Mount will be fit to return for United, after the midfielder was expected to miss as much as a month of action when initially ruled out, and tonight's match comes too soon.

Rashford is fit but his woeful form sees him miss out on a place in the starting lineup, with Antony coming into the front three alongside Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund.

Ten Hag said ahead of the game that the squad available to him is "more or less" the same as the recent defeat to Newcastle. That ended the Dutchman's mini-revival which constituted five wins in his side's last six Premier League games. It means the likes of Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez remain out for the hosts.

Anthony Martial underwhelmed on a surprise runout at St James Park and is on the bench tonight, while Kobbie Mainoo drops out of the side too despite impressing in recent weeks. Sofyan Amrabat partners Scott McTominay in midfield.

Diogo Dalot gets the nod at right-back, while Luke Shaw returns to left-back as Victor Lindelof comes in to partner Harry Maguire in the centre of defence.

Starting XI: Onana, Dalot, Maguire, Lindelof, Shaw, Amrabat, McTominay, Antony, Fernandes, Garnacho, Hojlund

Subs: Bayindir, Evans, Reguilon, Wan-Bissaka, Mainoo, Pellistri, Van de Beek, Rashford, Martial
