Manchester United make their return to competitive action as they host Burnley in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.
It’s five weeks since Alejandro Garnacho scored a last-gasp winner over Fulham in United’s final World Cup match before the World Cup, and since then there have been a couple of friendly defeats in Spain.
Erik ten Hag won’t be too concerned about that though, with his side strengthened by the return of many of those who featured in Qatar.
It’s the first match for United since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, his exit an acrimonious one but Ten Hag will be relieved to have the focus back on matters on the pitch.
Vincent Kompany’s Burnley side have had a couple of matches back in the Championship, winning them both, and they now sit top of the table and firmly on track for promotion.
