Manchester United unveil 2023/24 Adidas home shirt

Manchester United have officially released their new Adidas home kit ahead of the forthcoming 2023/24 season.

United's new home shirt is made up of the same colour of the city's iconic red rose and features a black collar. The collar also features a dash of both red and white, giving it a slick and modernised look.

The Adidas logo features in white and the club crest rests on the red that makes up almost all of the shirt, unlike last season where it was inserted inside a shield on a red background. The new home shirt also features the TeamViewer sponsor emblazoned across the front of the shirt.

Unlike in previous years, though, the word 'adidas' has not been printed across the front of the shirt directly underneath the logo. The new logo made its debut on some kits during last year's World Cup in Qatar.

Meanwhile, the sleeve sponsor on the home shirt remains the same, after United entered into a multi-year partnership with DXC Technology last summer. It will appear on the sleeve of all of the club's kits this season, including their away shirt and third shirt, both of which are yet to be released.

The new home shirt, which features a zig-zag pattern across the front of the shirt, on the shoulders and down the sleeves, has a modern look to it, compared to the retro feel last season's home shirt had. The shield surrounding the club badge on their 2022/23 strips meant it was similar to the kit that was worn during the treble-winning 1998/99 campaign.

Furthermore, the new shirt is manufactured with 100 per cent recycled materials, demonstrating Adidas' commitment to sustainability and their ongoing efforts to combat plastic waste. United say it is a 'step towards a greener future, combining high-performance apparel with eco-friendly solutions'.

United are set to wear their new home shirt for the very first time when they face Leeds United in their opening pre-season friendly on Wednesday, July 12 in Oslo, Norway.
