It is set to be another summer of change at Manchester United. There could be new owners, new signings, and a new captain, while it is also an opportunity to bid farewell to players no longer needed.
There are a lot of smaller changes to make, too. Erik ten Hag could look to make tactical tweaks to his setup, and could look to freshen up his squad by promoting youngsters or integrating players who have shone on loan.
Then there is a job that might seem inconsequential at first, but could play a part in their hopes of success next season: choosing the squad numbers.

At the top of the list is the famed No.7 shirt, which has remained vacant ever since Cristiano Ronaldo left the club late last year. It is arguably the most famous shirt number in all of world football, and has the ability to build a player's entire brand, such as with 'CR7'.
The mere mention of the word conjures memories of Old Trafford legends George Best, Eric Cantona, and David Beckham. Though, for every star that shines, there is also someone who has failed to live up to the expectations.
Michael Owen, Memphis Depay and Angel di Maria never managed to handle the demands of the number, while the pressure of the shirt was so much that Antonio Valencia requested his old number back, such was his demise after wearing it for one season. So while it might seem like just a shirt number, it will be a big call for Ten Hag this summer to choose a player worthy of wearing it, who he thinks will thrive under the pressure rather than wilt.
Right now, there would appear to be two leading candidates for it, and they have two months remaining in the season to make their case.
Antony would appear to be the favourite at this moment in time, given he has the obvious star quality and self-belief to live up to those lofty expectations. The 23-year-old is the second most expensive signing in the club's history and clearly forms a key part of Ten Hag's plans going forward, though there would be a demand for a more consistent output on his part.
After a decent debut campaign, it is only right that expectations increase for him next season, and adding the shirt number to his back could be the ultimate gauge of how ready he really is for the role.
Jadon Sancho is another candidate for the shirt number, but the surrounding consensus is that he would need to earn it, something he hasn't done yet. The 22-year-old has shown glimpses of huge promise during his time at United, though he has struggled for consistency and is yet to nail down a place in the line-up under Ten Hag.
Given that he faces a rather uncertain future at the club, it would certainly be a gamble to give him such a desirable shirt number, though backing him with it could also give him the confidence and self-belief to bring the best out of him.
One player not lacking in self-belief is teenage talent Alejandro Garnacho. The 18-year-old is the wildcard option to become United's new No.7 and has shown plenty of star quality to suggest he has what it takes.
Garnacho idolised Ronaldo during their time together at the club, and his own style of play has drawn plenty of resemblance to the Portuguese forward when he first joined.
Ronaldo had asked to wear the No.28 shirt when he moved from Sporting in 2004, but Sir Alex Ferguson convinced him to take the iconic number due to his belief that he would be able to add to the legendary lineage. Ten Hag might want to do the same with Garnacho.
Alternatively, the number could go to a summer signing or someone else who is already in the squad. Few would begrudge playmaker Christian Eriksen if he requested the shirt number, and he has already proven he has the quality to do it justice in his first season at the club.
Ten Hag certainly has lots of options to choose from, and they have two months to make that decision for him.
