There is no rest for Manchester United this Christmas break as the squad head to Malta in January 2023 for a week-long winter training camp.
The trip will be topped off by a mid-season friendly against Maltese First Division champions Birkirkara FC before returning to Women’s Super League action on the 15th.
United finished the calendar year in third place but plan to embark on further training in the first week of January to enhance his side's team spirit ahead of a busy second half of the season as they plan to stay at the top.
Marc Skinner said: "We have a wonderful partnership with the club’s Official Destination Partner, Visit Malta and the opportunity to get our girls back together after the Christmas break at Malta’s first-class facilities, to set the objectives ahead of a big second half of the season, is an excellent one for us.
"The players can expect plenty of hard work on the grass, while enjoying the world-renowned hospitality of the people of Malta, also home to one of our oldest Official Supporters' Clubs in the world.
"A privilege of being at Manchester United is having fans all over the world and we cannot wait to spend some time with them and remind ourselves what it is to play for this wonderful football club."
Manchester United's head of women’s football, Polly Bancroft, said: "This winter training camp will be a great opportunity for us to build on the success we have already achieved so far this season, allowing us to train within a different climate and culture.
"Playing local side Birkirkara FC will allow our squad to compete against a diverse opponent, away from their usual Carrington environment."
The Reds will take on Birkirkara FC at Hibernians Stadium on 6 January and complimentary tickets to the match will be given away by the club and their Official Destination Partner, Visit Malta.
To claim up to four complimentary tickets visit the Manchester United website and register your details. Tickets will be issued at random via a ballot and applicants will be notified via email. Registration closes on 30 December.
