Manchester United tipped to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold in shock summer transfer

Manchester United have been tipped to make an audacious move to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The former Liverpool right-back endured a mixed first season at Real Madrid, which form and fitness preventing him from showcasing his full potential.

Alexander-Arnold started just 14 of 37 La Liga games, and was also a bit-part player in the Champions League. He missed out on Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for the World Cup.

Such struggles has prompted speculation over his future, and now Man Utd have been told to take advantage and lure the boyhood Liverpool fan to Old Trafford.

"Trent is a player I like a lot," former Man Utd defender Antonio Valencia told Hajper.

"He has a very good right foot, he crosses well, and he is a player who defends well.

"He would be very good for Manchester United. He knows the Premier League. He knows what it means to win the Champions League and the Premier League.

"He is a passionate player, and I would like to see him at Manchester United.

"Hopefully it could happen, because we need players like that at Old Trafford. To play at that stadium, you need people with a lot of personality."

Valencia, though, does not want Alexander-Arnold's potential arrival to force Diogo Dalot to leave.

He continued: Manchester always have to renew the squad, and this is a team that we hope can have a good Premier League season and win it.

"But in terms of a right-back .. I just hope that whoever comes in can be the best possible option. And I hope Dalot does not leave, of course."
