Darwin Nunez has reportedly met with a number of Premier League clubs ahead of his expected departure from Benfica this summer.
The striker, who scored 34 goals last season, is reportedly being targeted by Manchester United. However, their pursuit of the 22-year-old has been muddied by Liverpool’s interest.
With Sadio Mane tipped to leave, the Reds are looking for an attacking replacement. United have been keen on Nunez for a while, with Erik ten Hag after a backup for Cristiano Ronaldo.

According to a recent report from Football Transfers, Nunez has met with several top English clubs. Their identities have not been disclosed but Tottenham are thought to have come into contact with the player’s agents, with a move to the UK seemingly a preference.
Meanwhile, Metro report that United will decide whether James Garner will be part of their first-team plans during pre-season. The 21-year-old had an outstanding season on loan at Nottingham Forest last season, guiding them to promotion via the play-offs.
Forest are keen to retain his services but United may keep hold of the youngster with the club bidding to restock their midfield upon the exits of Juan Mata, Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard and Nemanja Matic.
Garner will be part of Ten Hag’s pre-season tour of Asia, where he will effectively be on trial for a first-team spot.
