Jim Ratcliffe previously tried to sign Ole Gunnar Solskjaer up to manage Nice, the Manchester United legend has revealed.
Solskjaer spent three years in the Old Trafford dugout before being sacked in November 2021, and is yet to find a new club despite interest from the French side.
“Nobody knows this but, there were some talks with Nice and Sir Jim Ratcliffe because they wanted me,” Solskjaer is quoted by The Times as saying.

Latest reports suggest Ratcliffe, 70, is closing in on buying United off the Glazer family in a deal that is yet to be fully determined, with the current owners potentially retaining some share in the club.
The Oldham-born INEOS billionaire is said to have outbid Qatari businessman Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani’s offer of under £5billion for total control of the Red Devils.
“I’m not sure [Ratcliffe] can get the whole lot,” Solskjaer said. “I think he wants only 51 per cent; it’s a difficult one.”
He added: “[The takeover] needs to be done.
“Old Trafford is neglected. The training ground has been neglected. We need to catch up with the other teams.”
