Manchester United target Brian Brobbey has reportedly informed the club he won't be signing for them and will instead return to Ajax.
Brobbey is a product of the Ajax academy and was handed his senior debut by Erik ten Hag before moving to RB Leipzig in 2021. However, despite his potential, the striker struggled in Germany and failed to score in any of his 14 appearances.
The move failed to such an extent that just a few months later Brobbey returned to Ajax on loan for the rest of the season, where his seven goals in 11 league matches helped Ten Hag secure his final Eredivise title in charge of the club. That took his tally under Ten Hag to 13 goals and three assists in 32 matches.
Brobbey will now return to Ajax in a permanent move this summer, journalist Mike Verweij has reported. United had reportedly been keeping tabs on the youngster.

Elsewhere, several reports are rubbishing connections between United and PSV's Ibrahim Sangare.
The midfielder, who is open to a transfer, has been linked with United. However, Voetbal International say no offer has been made, despite contrary claims. Eindhovens Dagblad (via Sport Witness) have slammed the rumours as 'total nonsense'.
Sangare - who still has three years left on his contract - helped PSV beat Ten Hag's Ajax in April's Dutch Cup final.
