Manchester United youngster Hannibal Mejbri is among the nominees for the 2022 CAF Young Player of the Year award.
The 19-year-old already has 16 caps for Tunisia under his belt, having featured twice in this year’s Africa Cup of Nations. The midfielder came on for a memorable cameo in United's 4-0 defeat to Liverpool in April before making his first Premier League start in the final day loss to Crystal Palace.
He will be hoping to earn more minutes under Erik ten Hag this season ahead of the World Cup. Tunisia face Denmark, Australia and France in Group D in Qatar, where Hannibal will be hoping to play in his first finals.

He tasted his first piece of silverware last month, helping his country to the Kirin Cup, which is held in Japan every summer. His efforts throughout the year, including those in United’s under-23s where he scored once and assisted three in 12 games, have earned him a nomination for the award.
Hannibal will discover whether he has won the award at the ceremony on July 21 in Morocco. He is joined by nine other contenders, among which include ex-Barcelona youngster Ilaix Moriba - who was once linked with United - and Pape Matar Sarr of Tottenham, who spent last season on loan at French outfit Metz.
