Manchester United starlet Anthony Elanga shocked by Cristiano Ronaldo celebration gesture

Anthony Elanga admits he was shocked when Cristiano Ronaldo asked him to join in with his trademark celebration after opening the scoring against Norwich last month. Ronaldo netted another hat-trick as Manchester United fought hard to win 3-2 at Old Trafford.

The opening goal of the match was the easiest of the lot, as Ronaldo tapped in following a fine piece of pressing play from Elanga to rob possession from a Norwich defender. The Swedish forward then selflessly rolled the ball across the box for Ronaldo to finish, a generous gesture which was not taken for granted by the Portuguese star.

As Ronaldo raced away to execute his trademark 'Siuuu!' celebration, he invited Elanga to join in it with him as a thank you for the assist. Elanga has now spoken about the moment.

"That was an exciting time, the double SIUUU!" he told United Review. "I didn't expect it. He said: 'Let's do it'. I said: 'Fair enough' but, if you see in the video, I didn't really get into the air properly!

"But I managed to do it anyway and it was a special moment.

"He is someone I look up to and speak to and ask for advice and stuff. He is a special player to work with."

Elanga then went on to reveal the goal had specifically been worked on in the lead up to the match. He added: "Yeah, we spoke about it the day before actually. How we were going to work in terms of pressing.

"If you get an opportunity, to look up. If he gets an opportunity, to look up for me, as I'll be in the box or he will be in the box."
