Manchester United star Jadon Sancho sends message to Borussia Dortmund ahead of season finale

Jadon Sancho has wished Borussia Dortmund good luck ahead of their final-day clash with Mainz as they aim to become Bundesliga champions.

Dortmund will take to the Signal Iduna Park field this afternoon knowing three points will confirm a first Bundesliga title in 11 years, with Bayern Munich winning every league title since. Thomas Tuchel's side have endured a torrid season by their standards, with defeat against RB Leipzig last week opening the door for their rivals.

That defeat allowed Dortmund to go two points clear at the top of the table with a 3-0 win at Augsburg, and their status as champions will be confirmed this afternoon if they better Bayern's result against Koln.

Ahead of what will be a massive day for Dortmund, former player and United star Sancho shared a post from the club's account on his Instagram story, alongside the caption: '1 more step, good luck tomorrow boys!'.

Sancho left Dortmund for Old Trafford in 2021, signing a five-year contract with the Reds in a deal worth £73million. The winger enjoyed his greatest form in Germany, scoring 50 goals in 137 appearances across all competitions.

The 23-year-old has been unable to replicate such form at United, however, hampered by multiple fitness problems. During the World Cup break, he was sent to the Netherlands to undertake an individual training programme while the rest of the squad who hadn't travelled to Qatar were at a training camp in Spain.

Sancho returned from a three-month absence in February but has managed just three goals and two assists since.
