Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen has detailed how he is progressing in his recovery from a serious ankle injury.
Eriksen was forced to leave Old Trafford on crutches in January after sustaining an ankle injury during the Reds' 3-1 FA Cup win against Reading. The 31-year-old was initially ruled out for three months as a result of Andy Carroll's reckless challenge. The former Brentford man is expected to return to action next month.
The midfielder recently shared a positive injury update with supporters on social media, revealing that he is back on the grass after two months out on the sidelines. Now, Eriksen has opened on his mindset during his set-back, insisting he is keen to play a role in the season’s conclusion.

During a new episode of the club's UTD Podcast series - which is set to be released in April - Eriksen spoke about the rehabilitation process and provided a further update on his progress.
"I am very good thank you, very well thank you," he said. "It's very quiet at Carrington I would say, I haven't been here when it's this quiet. Maybe it was a bit similar when I signed and the whole team was in Australia (for pre-season). That was also very quiet. There is literally no-one here [laughs]. Nah, there are still a few people, but compared to normal there is nobody here.
"It is weird not being on international duty, you are normally away and now it's more the thing you are following your national team, and you are here instead of being with them. That is weird, but it has happened before so you get used to it. But, still, you enjoy it less."
Asked about his ongoing recovery from an ankle injury, Eriksen continued: "Yeah, it is going well. I have just started being outside as you saw [on Instagram] with football boots on.
"And then we take it from there, that is the next step. I have been in the gym for some weeks now and now it is time to do the next rehab session outside."
The Dane also admitted that his experience has helped him while being sidelined, suggesting that his sole focus has been to get back playing for Erik ten Hag's side.
"I think earlier in my career I would have taken it a lot harder than I do now," he continued. "You learn later on that it's just part of your career.
"Sometimes you are lucky, sometimes you are not. With this one particularly, when I can't do anything myself, when somebody came on to me, the mindset is just getting back as soon as possible in a healthy, strong way and not to get any setbacks."
Eriksen missed United's Carabao Cup triumph over Newcastle last month, but he has still made 31 appearances for the Reds this term, registering two goals and nine assists.
