Summer signing Antony could break his first Manchester United record against Everton on Sunday afternoon.
After sanctioning moves for Tyrell Malacia and Lisandro Martinez during his recruitment drive, Erik ten Hag signed Antony from his former club Ajax and the Brazilian has endured a promising start to life on these shores. He scored on his debut against Arsenal and added another goal in the Manchester derby.
Of course, that stunner at the Etihad Stadium was scant consolation for United as they were humbled against the defending Premier League champions 6-3 last weekend. However, from an individual perspective, it enabled Antony to push himself to the brink of a top-flight record for the club after touching down from the Eredivisie.

Although several players — including Zlatan Ibrahimovic during the 2016/2017 season — have scored in their first two league outings for United, no player has done so in their first three games. Ibrahimovic did net three goals shortly after signing from PSG, but they came in two matches against Bournemouth and Southampton.
It means Antony can surpass the iconic Swede and United greats from yesteryear if he scores on Sunday night.
Everton welcome United to Goodison Park on Sunday (7pm kick off) after Ten Hag and his team got back to winning ways in the Europa League on Thursday night. Marcus Rashford (two) and Anthony Martial were on target, after being summoned from the substitutes bench in Cyprus, as United came from behind to beat Omonia Nicosia.
Given that result, though, Antony is not certain to start against the Toffees as Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho also have to be factored in when Ten Hag settles on his starting XI for the game. Ultimately, only three of those five will get the nod and that could impact Antony's chances of extending his goal-scoring run.
