Manchester United squad vs Middlesbrough revealed

Paul Pogba is back in Manchester United's matchday squad for the first time since November.

Pogba, 28, sustained a thigh injury with France in November that subsequently ruled him out of action for over two months.

The midfielder last played for United against Atalanta in the Champions League and his last domestic appearance was in the Liverpool debacle at Old Trafford. Pogba has since made a full return to fitness and he could start against Middlesbrough tonight (Friday).

Ralf Rangnick confirmed Pogba was available for the fourth round FA Cup tie in his pre-match press conference. "Yes, Paul [Pogba] will be part of the group he might even be in the starting XI," said Rangnick when asked for early team news.

Pogba is in the final year of his contract at United and it's claimed his future has not been discussed by interim boss Rangnick.

Hannibal Mejbri has been included in the squad after he returned from the Africa Cup of Nations, as promised by Rangnick.

Luke Shaw also returns to the United squad after recovering from a minor hamstring problem. Shaw was a late absence from United's squad against Brentford in January and Rangnick later revealed the left-back had sustained a knock in training.

Rangnick has confirmed Shaw will start against Middlesbrough with Alex Telles just returning from international duty with Brazil.

David de Gea was not pictured arriving at the Hyatt Hotel in Manchester on Friday afternoon, but Dean Henderson, Tom Heaton and Lee Grant all were ahead of the Middlesbrough clash. It seems the Spaniard isn't included in the squad, though he may be travelling separately.

Ronaldo was with Diogo Dalot in Dubai across the winter break and the pair were pictured arriving together on Friday afternoon.

Edinson Cavani was granted extra days in his homeland of Uruguay by Rangnick and that means Ronaldo should start against Middlesbrough. Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Anthony Elanga are also available in attack.

Confirmed United squad members:

Dean Henderson, Tom Heaton, Lee Grant, Diogo Dalot, Luke Shaw, Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Phil Jones, Raphael Varane, Nemanja Matic, Scott McTominay, Bruno Fernandes, Fred, Paul Pogba, Juan Mata, Hannibal Mejbri, Jadon Sancho, Anthony Elanga, Cristiano Ronaldo, Marcus Rashford.
