Manchester United and Barcelona are locked in discussions over Frenkie de Jong and a proposed summer switch, according to reports. De Jong is a concrete target for United during the upcoming window.
Speculation over the Netherlands midfielder remains at fever pitch and United are weighing-up a move for him in what would present a reunion with his former Ajax manager Ten Hag - who arrived at Old Trafford last Monday to start work on a much-needed summer rebuild.
Barcelona are thought to be open to cashing-in on the player and, while the figure varies, United could make that deal happen for anywhere between £50-80million. De Jong arrived at the Nou Camp three years ago after bursting on to the scene in Amsterdam under now-United coach Ten Hag.

According to reports in The Sun, the Old Trafford giants are hoping to strike-up a deal closer to £50million - which comes as Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo suggest United and Barcelona continue to discuss the player with the intention of getting an agreement across the line in time for next season.
Elsewhere, reports are circulating that long-standing United target Arnaut Danjuma is gunning for a return to the Premier League during the summer transfer window. Danjuma, 25, is thought to have a €45million release clause in his Villarreal contract and key figures in the Old Trafford boardroom are keeping tabs on him.
However, while the Dutchman was a shining light in Spain last season - scoring 16 goals and providing four assists for the Yellow Submarine - Manchester Evening News understands a move for him remains unlikely.
Danjuma has spoken openly about his fondness for the Premier League and El Periodico Mediterraneo are claiming he wants to return during the upcoming window. Liverpool are keen on a swoop.
