Manchester United sent warning in their attempts to appoint Erik ten Hag as manager

Dutch football expert Marcel van der Kraan has warned Manchester United that Erik ten Hag is "very excited" about the prospect of taking a job elsewhere, insisting he has further opportunities available to him.

United interviewed the Ajax manager earlier this week about the prospect of him becoming the club's next permanent boss. As reported by the Manchester Evening News last week, Ten Hag is United's preferred candidate to succeed interim boss Ralf Rangnick and further talks are set to take place.

The Dutchman, 52, has been heavily linked with the job ever since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked back in November. He has proven to be a popular choice amongst the supporters and a lot of them have settled on him as being their first choice option to take charge at Old Trafford ahead of next season.
