Manchester United 'send scouts' to watch Brighton star Kaoru Mitoma and more transfer rumours

Manchester United are reportedly in the race to sign Brighton ace Kaoru Mitoma, with the Japan winger also attracting interest from several other European sides.

According to The Sun, the Reds are monitoring the Seagulls forward and have sent scouts to watch Mitoma already this campaign. The 25-year-old has been impressive for Roberto De Zerbi's side this term, registering eight goals and six assists in 26 games in all competitions.

It is thought that Arsenal, Real Madrid and Manchester City are also keen on the attacker. He arrived at Brighton from Kawasaki Frontale for just £2.7million in 2021, with reports suggesting that he is now valued at £35m. However, the Seagulls reportedly have no interest in selling the player.

Mitoma is under contract until 2025, but Brighton are expected to table a new contract offer to make him their highest-paid player. It comes after they rejected a £70m bid from Arsenal for Moises Caicedo in January, before tying the midfielder down to fresh terms at the club.

Elsewhere, Football Insider have reported that Ruben Neves is ready to quit Wolves this summer, even if the Midlands club avoid relegation to the Championship. It comes amid reports linking the Portuguese midfielder with a move to Erik ten Hag's side at the end of the season.

The report claims the 26-year-old is keen for a new challenge at the highest level, with his current deal set to expire in June 2024. It adds that the two parties have held contract talks, but negotiations have not progressed as expected.

The Mirror recently reported that Wolves are 'resigned' to losing their captain in the summer, with United, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Liverpool all thought to be monitoring his situation.

Neves was linked with a move away from Molineux last summer, but that failed to materialise and he remained at the club. He was touted as a potential option for the Reds in January of last year, however, he was never a priority target.
