West Ham remain interested in bringing Jesse Lingard back to the London Stadium, however, Newcastle United are in pole position for the England international's signature.

Lingard's made his intentions clear to Manchester United that he wanted to leave his boyhood club on transfer deadline day with interim manager Ralph Rangnick open to the move.

West Ham approached Manchester United earlier on deadline day with a view to a loan move until the end of the season, with the Hammers prepared to offer a greater package to the one agreed a year ago.
