Manchester United's Carabao Cup quarter-final kick off time and date confirmed vs Charlton Athletic

Manchester United's Carabao Cup clash with League One's Charlton Athletic will take place on Tuesday, January 10 at 8pm.

United progressed to the quarter-final stage of the competition last week courtesy of a 2-0 victory over Championship side Burnley at the Theatre of Dreams. Christian Eriksen and Marcus Rashford scored in either half to secure a comfortable progression.

Despite the Addicks being the only non- Premier League side remaining in the League Cup, the game will not be broadcast on Sky Sports. Instead, the cup's partner have chosen Newcastle United vs Leicester City and Southampton vs Manchester City for coverage.

The Reds will start the new year with four home games on the trot now that the Carabao Cup tie has been added to the schedule. Erik ten Hag's men will begin 2023 by hosting AFC Bournemouth on Tuesday, January 3. This match will then be followed by their FA Cup third round tie against Frank Lampard's Everton on January 6.

Charlton will then visit the following midweek before the tough test of Manchester City on Saturday, January 14 in the Premier League. United return to league action this evening when Nottingham Forest travel to the Theatre of Dreams.

Forest are currently battling hard against relegation but know that a win will move them out of the drop zone. While United loanee Dean Henderson is ineligible to face his parent club, tonight marks the return of Jesse Lingard to the Reds; his first visit since his departure at the end of the last campaign.

As for the hosts, they know that a win will take them to within one point of fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur, with a game in hand still remaining. Spurs could only draw at Brentford on Boxing Day.
