Manchester United 'retain Joao Felix interest' and more transfer rumours

Manchester United are still interested in signing Joao Felix on a permanent deal from Atletico Madrid this summer, according to reports in Spain.

Felix is currently on loan at Premier League rivals Chelsea, where he has impressed since arriving in January with a string of fine performances despite a straight red card on his debut against Fulham. Such form has encouraged Graham Potter's side enough to explore a full purchase, although the likely price tag of around €100million could prove problematic following two major spends over the last two windows.

Should the Portuguese international decide to leave Atleti this summer, then AS report that United could return to the fore and have 'asked' about the potential of signing Felix come June. Erik ten Hag's side were linked with a loan move for the 23-year-old in January as they searched for a quick-fire Cristiano Ronaldo replacement, instead opting for Wout Weghorst.

The Dutchman has split opinion since arriving on loan from Burnley, and Ten Hag is expected to sanction at least two major signing this summer as he looks to build a squad fit for a Premier League title challenge. One known target is a world-class goalscorer, with central midfield also a priority.

Elsewhere, Sky in Italy report that Tammy Abraham is 'destined' to return to the Premier League this summer amid links with Manchester United, according to reports in Italy.

Abraham left boyhood club Chelsea in the summer of 2021, with minutes almost certainly restricted by the £97.5million signing of Romelu Lukaku just four days prior to his departure. The striker attracted interest from a number of English top-flight clubs but opted instead to move abroad and sign for Roma.

And the 25-year-old has been enjoying life in the Italian capital, scoring 34 goals in 91 appearances across all competitions in the season-and-a-half since and winning the Europa Conference League. Such form has kept Premier League clubs on high alert, with United reportedly eyeing Abraham as a back-up option to the likes of Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen.
