Manchester United 'ready to make Christopher Nkunku bid' and more transfer rumours

Manchester United are primed and ready to submit their first bid for RB Leipzig forward Christopher Nkunku after holding talks with his representatives, according to reports. Nkunku has emerged as one of the brightest talents in Europe with a jaw-dropping goals and assists tally this season.

Nkunku scored 35 goals and provided 20 assists in all competitions last term. That form saw him make his debut for France during the March international break. The likes of United and Paris Saint-Germain are said to be on red alert in response to that return.

The 24-year-old actually started his career with PSG before moving to Leipzig for £11.7million in 2019. Juventus also reportedly view him as a potential signing.

Reports from Sky Germany suggest United are keen to make a move for Nkunku as they look to map out their rebuild under Erik ten Hag. The same article claims Leipzig would be willing to cash in providing possible suitors match their valuation.

Elsewhere, reported Tottenham target Alessandro Bastoni would prefer a switch to United this summer, even after the north Londoners secured Champions League qualification. In a dismal campaign which saw United finish sixth, it was Tottenham who won the race for top-four.

Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport credits Tottenham and United with an interest in Bastoni. However, should he depart Inter Milan during the upcoming window, it is understood that the 23-year-old would rather move to United than Tottenham.
