The 24-year-old becomes the third signing of the window, with the club expected to pursue more targets before it shuts.
There is also interest in potential outgoings, particularly when it comes to the future of Cristiano Ronaldo, as it remains undecided as to whether the Portuguese forward will remain at Old Trafford for the new campaign.
