United want Amad to feel involved as he prepares to return to the squad ahead of the pre-season tour of the United States.
Amad, 20, has been in scintillating form during his season-long loan with Sunderland, scoring 13 goals and tallying three assists in 37 Championship appearances. Amad was also named Sunderland's young player of the season.
Antonio on De Gea
West Ham striker Michail Antonio criticised David de Gea after his match-defining mistake for United against the Hammers.
The Spaniard was beaten too easily by Said Benrahma's weak shot which turned out to be the winning goal. David Moyes' side held on to the 1-0 lead which leaves Erik ten Hag's men looking over their shoulder in the quest for Champions League qualification.
Antonio has previously been a huge supporter of United's No.1. However, the West Ham striker said he could not defend De Gea on this occasion and was left baffled by his inability to keep out Benrahma's shot. The mistake has raised further questions about his suitability to be United's first-choice goalkeeper next season.
“I can’t slate the man," he told The Footballer's Football Podcast. “I don’t really want to slate the man. But De Gea has got to do better. I don’t understand, he is such a good 'keeper. But he has these moments, I feel so bad for the guy."
