Manchester United player ratings as Marcus Rashford and David de Gea superb vs Leicester

David de Gea

Made a superb save from Harvey Barnes and an even better save from Kelechi Iheanacho. Those denials eventually ensured United won comfortably. 8

Diogo Dalot

Admonished by Erik ten Hag, although he possibly took it on behalf of the whole team. Missed a glorious chance to make it 2-0. 6

Victor Lindelof

Got in the way of Iheanacho's tame shot but was uncomfortable against Leicester's lively forwards. Had a calmer second half. 6

Lisandro Martinez

Had one of his worst halves for months but started the second half strongly by nodding against the crossbar and then looked back to his old self. 6

Luke Shaw

Caught out of position too often when Leicester dominated but much better at both ends during his 23 minutes in the second. 6

Marcel Sabitzer

Had an uncertain first half, as most in red did, but surer on the ball in the second and benefited from Scott McTominay's emergence. 6

Fred

Saved the best for last to play Marcus Rashford in to make it 2-0. Up until then, he was having another nightmare against Leicester. 5

Alejandro Garnacho

On the periphery for the entire first half and though his withdrawal seemed harsh it was completely vindicated as Jadon Sancho flourished. 5

Bruno Fernandes

Created United's two great chances in the first half and teed up Sancho to make it 3-0. Has a mentality that is a dream for any manager. 8

Marcus Rashford

Scored United's first chance to deflate Leicester and he punished their high line again to make it 2-0. Now has 24 goals this season. 8

Wout Weghorst

Spent the first half as the 10 but did not summon any creativity and returned to the No.9 role in the second, which benefited the team. 5

Subs

Jadon Sancho

Immediately improved United and scored stylishly. His best performance all season. 8

Scott McTominay

A steady return to the team. 6

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Eager down the right. 6

Anthony Elanga

A rare outing. 6

Kobbie Mainoo

Made his Premier League debut. 6

Manager

Ten Hag was visibly vexed by United's first half performance and was proactive in hooking Garnacho for Sancho. United were better in the first five minutes of the second half. 8
