Manchester United 'planning raid' of Jose Mourinho's Roma and more transfer rumours

Manchester United are said to be eyeing up a move for exciting winger Nicolo Zaniolo who currently plays under former Old Trafford boss Jose Mourinho at Roma.

According to the Roma Press, United are closely monitoring the right winger as they look to bolster their attacking options ahead of the new season. They will face stiff competition from Juventus.

The Italian winger scored eight goals and provided nine assists in all competitions for Roma last campaign as he helped them to a sixth-placed finish in Serie A.

Elsewhere, the Evening Standard report that United have approached Jonathan Clauss to try and tempt the France international to make the move from Ligue 1 to the Premier League.

United are willing to part ways with Aaron Wan-Bissaka and they see Clauss as a viable replacement for the former Crystal Palace right-back. The 29-year-old is said to have been scouted by Chelsea for more than a year.

United face competition from abroad as well with both Atletico Madrid and Marseille showing interest. Marseille recently had a bid of £6m rejected by Lens. Clauss is into the final year of his contract and has the ability to play on both the left and right of the defence.
