Erik ten Hag insists his focus is entirely on Manchester United winning trophies, rather than preventing Manchester City from doing so.
United and City face off in next weekend's FA Cup final, with City aiming to complete the second leg of a potential treble.
United are the only team in English football history to win the league, FA Cup and European Cup in a single season, having famously achieved the feat in 1999, and preserving the uniqueness of that achievement has become important to supporters.

Ten Hag said his full focus is on winning the trophy for United. He said: "Blocking Manchester City's treble dreams? Well this is about us, about us winning the FA Cup. This tournament is huge in England. I want to give our fans this trophy."
Meanwhile. Ten Hag believes Hakim Ziyech must be playing football every week as he kept the content of their discussion after United's win over Chelsea private.
Ziyech played under Ten Hag when the pair were at Ajax together. The Morocco international ended up moving to Stamford Bridge, before Ten Hag headed to United to take over at Old Trafford last summer.
The pair were reunited on Thursday evening when Chelsea headed to Old Trafford to take on United. The hosts won 4-1 as United confirmed their place in next season's Champions League with qualification secured.
Ten Hag spoke to Ziyech at the conclusion of the encounter as the pair shared a warm moment together. The pair shared a few words and hugged as they departed the pitch, with Ziyech also swapping shirts with United defender Tyrell Malacia.
Ziyech has struggled to find regular game time for Chelsea this season, with the club enduring a dismal campaign which is destined to see them finish in the bottom half of the Premier League table. As a result, speculation has surrounded his future and he could be one of the players who departs Stamford Bridge, with a big player turnover expected from the London side in a bid to recoup funds after a spree over the past two transfer windows.
But Ten Hag kept the content of his discussion with Ziyech to himself as he spoke warmly of their relationship. And he believes the winger ought to now be playing week in, week out after entering the prime years of his playing career.
He told Viaplay: "That is between Hakim and me. We have experienced a lot together, beautiful things. There is a bond for life. He has to play every week. A footballer like that, in the prime of his life, must be on the pitch."
