Any potential move from Arsenal for Youri Tielemans may depend upon the decisions of their rivals Manchester United in the final hours on the January transfer window. The Gunners have continued to be linked with a switch for the Belgian midfielder, who has just a few months remaining on his contract at Leicester City.
With only a few hours left in the January window, a move seems more than unlikely for the north London side, who are instead tying down a switch for Chelsea star Jorginho. At £12million, the move could be a snip of the price they would have to pay for Tielemans, who could be available for free in the summer.
At this stage, football.london understands interest in Tielemans has cooled, with Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo viewed as potential options for the midfield in the summer. It remains to be seen how things will change in the next few months though, given the groundwork put into the potential signing of the 25-year-old over the past year.

However, that move in the summer could be dependent on clubs elsewhere not pursuing a switch for Tielemans too. One of the other sides that continues to be linked are rivals Manchester United, who are in need of a midfield option late in the January window following a lengthy injury to Christian Eriksen.
Luckily for the Gunners, it appears as though the Red Devils have been put off a deal in the final hours as Sky Sports reports that a high fee set by Leicester has dissuaded an switch from happening. It means a free transfer in the summer is highly likely unless a new contract is signed.
It remains to be seen how that race could play out, with plenty of big sides potentially monitoring a deal when it comes to a few months time.
