Manchester United have already decided against pushing to sign Wout Weghorst permanently when his loan agreement ends this summer - according to reports.
Having allowed Cristiano Ronaldo to move on mid-season, United welcomed in Weghorst from Burnley as the stop-gap replacement for their departing five-time Ballon d'Or winner. However, the Netherlands international has earned mixed reviews for his performances, with only one goal to show for his efforts.
Weghorst, 30, has impressed with his link-up play, though, which he underlined as being a strength during the World Cup in Qatar this winter. He also grabbed nine goals in 18 games for ex-loan side Besiktas before Burnley sanctioned a temporary switch to Old Trafford in the January window.

Reports from Football Insider suggest United will not attempt to sign Weghorst permanently, even as a back-up option amid their ongoing search for a long-term striker. Victor Osimhen and Tottenham striker Harry Kane are being monitored, with both players expected to command at least £100million for their signature.
United paid Burnley £2.5million in loan fees for Weghorst. He has made 10 appearances so far.
Elsewhere, reports from Mundo Deportivo state Catalan giants Barcelona are trying to "disrupt" talks between United and right-back Diogo Dalot over a proposed new contract. Barcelona have repeatedly been linked with a swoop for the Portugal international during recent windows.
Dalot, 23, saw the one-year option in his Old Trafford deal triggered this season, which means he is effectively under contract until 2024 - although discussions between the parties are thought to be encouraging - despite Mundo Deportivo underlining ongoing interest in the former FC Porto man.
