Manchester United are not planning to sign Wout Weghorst on a permanent basis.
Weghorst, 30, has scored a meagre two goals in 26 games since arriving on loan from Burnley in the January transfer window.
United do not have an option or obligation to sign Weghorst, who is contracted to Burnley until 2025. Burnley have won the Championship to earn promotion back to the Premier League.

Weghorst joined United to offset the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo and he has scored as many goals as he managed in 20 games for Burnley last term.
United have prioritsed a centre forward in the summer, with Harry Kane the preferred target of manager Erik ten Hag.
Although well-placed sources say Ten Hag is "obsessed" with Tottenham talisman Kane, United are also interested in the prolific Napoli goalscorer Victor Osimhen.
United have been keeping tabs on Eintracht Frankfurt striker Randal Kolo Muani and Atalanta goalscorer Rasmus Hojlund, while Ten Hag is also an admirer of Benfica frontman Goncalo Ramos and Mohammed Kudus of Ajax.
Weghorst was one of three loan signings by United in January as goalkeeper Jack Butland and midfielder Marcel Sabitzer also arrived.
Butland's contract at Crystal Palace expires in the summer while Sabitzer is tied to Bayern Munich until 2025.
