Manchester United are open to sending Charlie McNeill out on loan in the January transfer window. Erik ten Hag's side are prioritising the addition of a new forward this month, but will allow the teenage striker to leave if an appropriate offer comes in for him.
The Manchester Evening News understands that the United forward has already attracted interest from the Football League and that he is willing to gain valuable experience elsewhere during the second half of the season.
McNeill spent last season with League One side Sheffield Wednesday on a work experience loan, which allowed him to train with the first team but not play any games.

The 19-year-old made his senior debut earlier this season when he came on in the closing minutes of United's home defeat to Real Sociedad in the Europa League.
The academy forward was also named on the bench for the trip to face FC Sheriff in Europe, but has not featured in another senior matchday squad since then.
McNeill has been a regular for United at U21 level this season, and has also gained valuable experience leading the line for his side in the EFL Trophy.
However, with United knocked out of the competition and struggling in the Premier League 2 it might be more beneficial for the promising teenager to go elsewhere in order to continue his progression.
McNeill made headlines three years ago when he rejoined United from Man City for an initial fee of £750,000 that could rise to £1.5million, having initially left the club back in 2014.
The teenage forward, who netted over 600 goals at youth level, rejected a new contract at City in order to rejoin his boyhood club.
United are advancing with a potential loan move for Burnley striker Wout Weghorst as they look to add a new striker to their side this month.
The 30-year-old is on loan at Besiktas, where he has scored eight goals in 16 games, but United manager Erik ten Hag has earmarked the Dutchman as an ideal support striker for Anthony Martial.
Besiktas have a €10m option to sign Weghorst and Burnley did not insert a recall clause. The lack of a recall option may require negotiation between all three clubs.
