Manchester United could snap up AS Monaco star Aurelien Tchouameni for £42m this summer, according to reports,
United face stiff competition as Real Madrid are also said to be in the running for the highly-rated France international. United have already made their plans for this summer clear, with the midfield department set to be a priority.
Declan Rice is among their targets but Tchouameni has been tipped with a move to the Premier League in recent months. He has three goals and two assists in all competitions this season for Monaco.

According to French outlet FootMercato, Philippe Clement's side are looking for around €50m (£42m) for the midfielder. His former club Bordeaux hold a 20 per cent stake in any fee agreed.
Meanwhile, Merih Demiral has become the latest defender linked with a move to Old Trafford. However, should their reported interest materialise, United will face a battle with the likes of Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid for the centre-back.
That comes from Turkish news outlet Fanatik who have reported that interest in the 24-year-old is mounting. United got a close view of the Turkey international during their Champions League tussle with Atalanta earlier this season, with Demiral scoring in the meeting at Old Trafford.
