Manchester United injury update: Antony, Harry Maguire and Anthony Martial latest news and return dates

Manchester United are hoping for more injury boosts this week.

Antony and Anthony Martial have been absent for the past fortnight, however Erik ten Hag hinted at one of the forwards making their return soon as Scott McTominay ended his spell on the sidlines.

Harry Maguire recently joined the absentee list, which includes long-term issues for Christian Eriksen and Donny van de Beek.

Meanwhile, Casemiro has now served the final game of his domestic ban with Marcel Sabitzer and Lisandro Martinez back from European suspensions.

Here is your latest update of Manchester United injuries and return dates...

Antony

The Brazilian has missed the last four games with a leg injury but Ten Hag raised hopes for his return when speaking ahead of the Leicester game.

When discussing Antony, Scott McTominay and Martial the manager named “one or two” players that could return. In the end, it was McTominay who made his comeback while fans wait to discover which of Antony and Martial is next in line.

Harry Maguire

An injury kept Maguire out of the squad to face Leicester and Ten Hag explained that he does not expect it to be a long-term. Reports suggest a knee issue has made him a doubt for the second leg against Barcelona.

“Injured,” he told MUTV. “I don’t think [it’s serious] but we have to wait and see how it will develop.”

Anthony Martial

Martial has not played since the start of February, when he briefly returned from one injury before suffering a setback in his hip.

Like Antony, the latest update came when Ten Hag suggested a couple of United’s injured trio are nearing a return - although it feels like Martial could be the one requiring a longer recovery period given this is his fifth problem of the season.

Christian Eriksen

United named late April or early May as Eriksen’s target for recovering from an ankle injury suffered against Reading in the FA Cup.

That would suggest the visit of Aston Villa or trip to West Ham as his best bet at this point, allowing him to feature in the final weeks of the Premier League season plus a couple of possible cup finals.

Donny van de Beek

A serious knee injury will rule Van de Beek out for the season.

Van de Beek posted a photo from his hospital bed after a successful operation, writing online: “It’s time to start my recovery process and will do everything to come back stronger for this club.”
