Manchester United 'identify Harry Kane alternatives' and other transfer rumours

Manchester United have reportedly identified two alternatives to Harry Kane should the England and Tottenham Hotspur captain not want to move to Old Trafford.

Reports on Friday suggested that Kane could be interested in a switch to the Theatre of Dreams in the summer. His current contract at Spurs is set to expire in 2024 and it would seem as though the 29-year-old could be available on a relatively cheaper deal if he does not wish to remain in North London.

However, should United not be able to attract Kane to Manchester, the Daily Mirror understands that Erik ten Hag would pursue two other strikers instead. First on their list of alternatives is RB Salzburg's Benjamin Sesko.

The 19-year-old Slovenian is set to join RB Leipzig in the summer but it is apparently not out of the question for the Bundesliga side to make a quick profit on the forward. So far in Austria this season, Sesko has scored seven goals in 25 appearances.

United's other back-up options is reportedly Nigerian and Napoli star Victor Osimhen. The 24-year-old has once again been a standout performer for the Serie A side and has scored 13 goals in 18 appearances this season.

Elsewhere, Sky Sports Germany journalist Sven Westerschulze has ruled out Borussia Dortmund making a loan offer for Anthony Elanga. The 20-year-old's form this season has not been at the same standard as under Ralf Rangnick with the Swede having notched just one assist.

A loan spell away from Old Trafford could be deemed as beneficial for Elanga as it has been for Amad and recent reports have circulated suggesting that the Bundesliga giants might be interested in bringing the winger in temporarily. However, Westerschulze took to Twitter to dispel these rumours.

He tweeted: "Contrary to many rumours, Anthony Elanga is not an issue for Borussia Dortmund. A signing of the winger from Manchester United is very unlikely according to Sky Sports News sources.

"Even a loan is not an option for Borussia Dortmund - nothing will change about that."
