Manchester United legend Patrice Evra will move sports and lace-up boxing gloves for the first time, next month.
The former France left-back will come out of sporting retirement to box in Boxstar's show on April 30 at London's O2 Arena. Evra called time on his illustrious footballing career in 2018, which included 379 appearances for United.
His opponent at the end of next month has yet to be announced. Still, the United icon will fight on the same bill as the rescheduled fight between Martyn Ford and Iranian Hulk after it was postponed from the beginning of April following unforeseen circumstances and injuries.

Speaking to Boxstar UK, Evra said: "I'm really excited to participate for the first time ever in my life in a boxing match, because I always had so much respect for people boxing. It is not just about power and strength, it is also about strategy and technique — It's like a chess game.
"What I am the most excited for is the training technique, because the way they train is completely different to how football players train. I am really excited to work hard, to challenge myself, and to get out of my comfort zone.
"It is a massive opportunity for me. Of course, I want to have fun, like with everything I do, but I also want to make sure I show that I respect this sport," he concluded.
The former left-back announced the news on his Instagram story and will feature in the celebrity boxing event that has featured the likes of Love Island stars and ex-professional footballers, in recent shows.
