Manchester United give update on Marcus Rashford injury

Manchester United's Marcus Rashford will be unavailable 'for a few games' with a muscle injury and he's uncertain to recover from the problem in time to play Brighton in the FA Cup semi-final later this month.

Rashford was forced to leave the pitch in the 80th minute of United's win against Everton at the weekend. The player underwent scans on the problem and it has now been confirmed he is set to miss a few games with a muscle injury.

The player appeared to hold his groin and he looked in visible discomfort before being substituted off against Everton, but the problem is not as bad as feared and he's expected to recover from the injury for the season run-in.

Rashford has scored 28 goals in all competitions and he's the leading goalscorer at the club this season. Ten Hag was recently asked about being over-reliant on the forward and he backed his other attacking options to deliver.

“We have many more players across the squad who can score,” Ten Hag said. "I think we have players like Bruno, like Jadon Sancho, like Anthony Martial, like Scott McTominay, like Antony. We have enough players with the capabilities to score goals, definitely.”

Rashford has been responsible for around 35 per cent of the team's goals.
