Manchester United fans trying to gain Club Wembley tickets for this month’s Carabao Cup final against Newcastle United have been told they are only permitted to be sold via official members portals.
Club Wembley is a membership service that guarantees seating for subscribers for ‘core’ matches such as England men’s senior internationals and the domestic cup finals. Members also get priority on non-core events such as music concerts and NFL games.
It was brought to the attention of the organisation that Club Wembley tickets for the Carabao Cup final on Sunday, February 26 were being 'sold' off site on another platform for extortionate prices, with some as high as £8,000.

The service was quick to notify both United and Newcastle fans that they should not buy tickets from third-party sites and that they are only available through Club Wembley’s official channels.
In a series of replies to tweets over the weekend, its official Twitter account said: “Club Wembley tickets are not permitted to be re-sold outside of our members portal. All tickets listed on this [third-party] site are being investigated, and cancelled.”
Both sets of supporters are expected to be handed around 35,000 seats each for the showpiece, with the EFL announcing this month that safe standing will be introduced for the final - a first in 35 years - with 867 spaces available in areas behind both goals.
An EFL statement said: "In these areas fans are allowed to stand for matches in allocated spaces behind a barrier or a rail which prevents them from falling forward.”
The Carabao Cup showpiece will be United’s first final since their 2021 Europa League defeat to Villarreal and their first domestic showdown since the 2018 FA Cup clash with Chelsea. Newcastle appear in their first final since the 1999 FA Cup final when they lost to United.
