Manchester United fans on social media have been complaining about the positioning of Michael Olise's equalising free-kick on Wednesday night, after the ball appeared to be spotted several yards further forward than the location of Luke Shaw's foul.
Olise's strike in stoppage time secured a point for the hosts after Bruno Fernandes had given United the lead late into the first half. While the awarding of the free-kick was not in question, where Palace took it from is.
Freeze frames that have been shared on social media appear to show that the ball was placed several yards closer to the goal than it should have been. United fans on Reddit spotted this error and shared their frustration with the referee's failure to pick up on it.

SmallOccasion: "The most ridiculous thing is the extra 10 yards they got from the spot of the foul that put it into shooting distance."
B0z22: "The freekick was also placed about 10 yards further forward than the spot of the foul. You'd think in this day age with all the technology available we wouldn't allow incompetence to officiate yet here we are."
distantapplause: "Yep definitely crept forward a few yards. If snooker referees can replace a ball within a millimetre of where it was, you think that football referees could get it within the same postcode."
dispellthemyth: "Erik ten Hag needs to get them to fight over metres, teams keep stealing metres from us to get closer to our goal."
United would have moved above Manchester City if they had held onto the three points at Selhurst Park. Instead, the Reds moved level on points with the Blues and City will move three points clear in second if they beat Tottenham on Thursday.
