Manchester United fans share Lisandro Martinez and Antony transfer theory upon Ajax return

Manchester United supporters have conjured up another transfer theory after summer targets Lisandro Martinez and Antony returned to training with their Ajax teammates.

After confirming Tyrell Malacia as his first signing, former Ajax manager Erik ten Hag continues to set his sights on further recruits. United have submitted an offer for centre-back Martinez and Antony remains on their radar in the quest to sign a versatile attacking option.

It remains a strong possibility that both players could touch down at Old Trafford in time for next term. However, with the wheels firmly in motion to back Ten Hag as he sets about a summer rebuild, Martinez and Antony are still in Amsterdam as Ajax prepare to defend their latest Eredivisie crown next season.

But will that be the case moving forward? Ten Hag and United have flown over to Thailand for a pre-season tour which also features stops in Australia and Norway - while the 31-man squad picked by the Dutchman could yet be joined by additional signings before embarking on their return journey home.

Aside from Martinez and Antony - who are well known to Ten Hag from his Ajax tenure - United want to sign free agent Christian Eriksen and Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong, while key figures in the Old Trafford boardroom are also set to try and hijack a move for RB Leipzig striker Brian Brobbey. He spent last season on loan at Ajax.
