Manchester United fans react to starting line-up vs Cadiz as Alejandro Garnacho starts

Erik ten Hag has named a strong starting line-up for Manchester United's friendly with Spanish side Cadiz CF at the Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla this evening.

United, who are currently in Spain for a training camp ahead of the domestic season resuming in a fortnight's time, face Cadiz in the first of two friendlies this week. They are scheduled to face Real Betis on Saturday.

The Reds travelled to Spain earlier this week with a group of 29 players, featuring a blend of both first-team regulars and several youngsters. The trip is designed to maintain the fitness levels of those who have not been in action at the World Cup.

Although the squad features a large pool of youngsters, Ten Hag has named as strong a line-up as possible for the clash with Cadiz, featuring the likes of Victor Lindelof, Scott McTominay, Donny van de Beek and Anthony Martial. The latter will be looking to make the very most of the trip to Spain after missing most of this season so far through a series of injury woes.

Fringe players Martin Dubravka, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who has earned just four minutes worth of football so far this season, Zidane Iqbal and Anthony Elanga have also been awarded starting berths. There is also a place in attack for Alejandro Garnacho, who scored the winner against Fulham in United's last outing prior to the World Cup pause.

However, first choice goalkeeper David de Gea has been left out of the matchday squad. At the time of writing, the reason for that decision is yet to have been confirmed.

In the aftermath of the team news being confirmed, it is Ten Hag's decision to start Garnacho in attack that has generated the most excitement. The Argentine, following his exploits in recent weeks, is immensely popular at Old Trafford right now, meaning the fans are desperate to see as much of him as they possibly can.

Below, MEN Sport has taken a close look at what the supporters have had to say in response to Ten Hag's decision to award a starting berth to the youngster:

United starting line-up: Dubravka; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Mengi, Williams; McTominay, Iqbal, Van de Beek; Elanga, Martial, Garnacho.

Substitutes: Bishop, Heaton, Shoretire, Savage, Hugill, McNeill, Emeran, Bernard, Jurado, Hardley, Bennett, Hansen-Aaroen, Gore, Mainoo, Oyedele, Murray, Fredricson.
