Manchester United supporters have been reacting to former manager Jose Mourinho guiding Roma to the Europa Conference League trophy after they defeated Feyenoord 1-0 in Wednesday's final.
The Italian club becomes the competition’s inaugural winners, with the win being their first piece of European silverware in their history. It’s Mourinho’s first trophy since winning the Europa League with United in 2017.
Ex-Old Trafford defender Chris Smalling, who was also part of Mourinho's United squad, was hailed for his dominant display in the game with former Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham also getting a winner's medal. Upon full-time, a number of United fans lamented their club letting Mourinho leave, pointing to his trophy bounce-back while their club are still yet to win silverware since his exit. Some took the Twitter to share their frustration.
