Manchester United fans make Cristiano Ronaldo views clear with new chant vs Burnley

Manchester United supporters chanted about the recently-departed Cristiano Ronaldo during the Reds' Carabao Cup victory over Burnley on Wednesday night.

The club parted company with the 37-year-old veteran following his explosive interview with Piers Morgan in November. Ronaldo criticised the Glazers, his then-manager Erik ten Hag and several of his former teammates.

Ronaldo left Old Trafford by mutual consent, with United issuing a 67-word statement announcing that they had reached a mutual agreement for the player to leave the club. He was the only active player at the World Cup to be playing as a free agent.

The Portuguese ace, who registered 145 goals and 64 assists across his two spells with the Reds, is expected to sign for Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr in the coming days. During United's game against Burnley in midweek, the club's fans made their feelings on the player clear.

Thousands of Reds supporters chanted about the 37-year-old, singing: "I don't care about Ronny, Ronny don't care about me, all I care about is MUFC."

Ten Hag's side sealed their place in the last-eight of the EFL Cup with a routine 2-0 win over Burnley at Old Trafford. Goals either side of half-time from Christian Eriksen and Marcus Rashford sealed a winning start to the restart for United.

Vincent Kompany's side did little to test Reds goalkeeper Martin Dubravka ahead of Eriksen opening the scoring, before Rashford made sure of the victory with a stunning solo goal shortly before the hour mark.

United's reward for seeing off the Championship table-toppers is a quarter-final showdown with Charlton next month. The Addicks sealed their place in the last-eight with a win over Brighton on penalties on Wednesday evening.
